Rosgrade
SPECIALIST IN MACHINE STRENGTH GRADING
ROSGRADE…
…proven excellency in determining Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) of lumber. Sorting lumber to grades such as C16, C24, T10, T15, MSR2100 or MGP12. ROSGRADE comply with most relevant grading standards.
Measurements by the interferometer are not disturbed by surrounding interferences such as sound. In stress test ROSGRADE reach a repeatability over 99 %. ROSGRADE measurements and algorithms determine frequency to the same quality as laboratory equipment (accelerometer). Correlation factor 1.0.
How it works
The board travels cross wise on a conveyor. As the board enters ROSGRADE measurements, a cylinder vibrates the board by a stroke to the end. The robust industrial interferometer measures the oscillation. Frequency is calculated by robust and fast algorithms. Length is retrieved either from a separate gauge, PLC or prompted by the user on ROSGRADE screen. The calculation results in determining highest possible grade, which is communicated to the PLC system.
Production statistics is stored in a SQL database. Reports extracted from the database fulfills the demands on documentation set by the standard EN-14081 etc.
Benefits

- Measures and calculates MOE of lumber with an accuracy over 99 %.
- Comply with most relevant grading standards.
- Measures the board as it travels cross wise on a conveyor.
- User friendly, easy to learn and operate.
- Short installation (normally long weekend).
- Measurement components are separated from vibration induced by mill conveyors etc.
- Cylinder is the only moving part.
- Data storage and reports in SQL database.
- Automatic moisture compensation.
- System check procedures.
